Genealogical Photo Restoration

I’ve come across old family photos that, with the right photo restoration technique, would come back to life.

I am a huge fan of family history, the technical term is genealogy, and having photos of my long lost relatives adds depth to an otherwise boring family tree.

With today’s technologies, photo restoration has become easier to do. It is much more than just copying pictures.

Basically, you’ll need a scanner, photo editing software, and the willingness to spend some time becoming acquainted with both the software and pictures before you begin your photo restoration project.

Photo Restoration is an art form all to itself.

When you do photo restoration, your intent is to not change the composition of the image, like adding color to a black and white photograph, but rather, restore the photo to it’s original non degraded state.

When done properly, photo restoration brings vibrance back to an otherwise faded image, returning a little piece of a lost relative’s life.
