After an intense interval ride, concentraiting on keeping an even cadence or “spinning” is a good way to train my muscles to perform in a predictable manner. This gives me ample opportunity to focus on form during my light nights.
Spinning keeps me from tightening up, lessening the chances for injury when I do longer rides. For the next couple of days my goal is to just spin.
Music that has bpms in the 140 range for me are the easiest to spin to and not raise my heart rate up to fast. Ideally I want to keep my heart rate down for a couple of days before the next hard ride.
My favorite podcast from PodRunner, “Hothouse”, 144 bpm, 72 rpm, 60 minutes
