…Multi-Use Paths I think were designed by a crazy person. Why? mixing vehicular traffic with pedestrians is a crazy idea.

It is one reason I would rather take my chances on the road.
On the road there are laws to be followed, little erratic random movements going on, vehicular traffic going in the same direction of travel, and for the most part all following the same rules (or at least you would hope so…)
On a MUP, the mixed pace of walkers, joggers, skaters, rollerbladers, cyclists of various levels of fitness makes for a very volatile mix of mass confusion. Sorry not my cup of tea.

Where I ride there is a mix of slow moving farm equipment, semi trucks, and any number of POVs, HOVs, and SUVs all moving in the same direction of travel. If there is erratic driving going on, I have found that most drivers wouldn’t put up with it and a majority of the time the offender is stopped by police and the problem delt with. On a MUP, not so much. It would appear that crazy erratic behavior is by design.
I’ll choose the order of the road versus the chaos of the MUP!
