Summer is here, and along with it are summer activities – such as riding a bike.

I cannot stress the importance of children wearing a bike helmet enough.

Make sure your child always wears a helmet when riding their bike.

Let me repeat . . . Make sure your child ALWAYS wears a helmet when riding their bike.

Bike helmets are inexpensive, about $15 at a local retailer, and way less expensive than your child’s life or a hospital bill.

If a child falls without wearing a bike helmet, they can hit the most sensitive part of their head, causing concussions or worse. Always keep in mind – your child is more valuable than your most expensive piece of jewelry, and are not protected by your home security alarm. When I see children riding a bike without a helmet, it makes my stomach churn and my mind go wild. Why wouldn’t someone make their child wear a bike helmet, to protect the person that is growing inside that brain?!
