Offensive

This is what I find offensive: saying that people are not capable of taking care of themselves.

Why should a minority of people be forced to pay the bill for the rest of us? And to do so at the point of a gun?

This has never been the American way, nor, should it be.

Yes, there are those amongst us, who, by no fault of their own, have dificulties that need to be addressed, however, addressed not by the “collective” that is government but by individual actions and choices. That is how a “free society works”: helping each other because it is the right thing to do, not because someone told you to do it.

Our form of government, a “Constitutional Republic”, is setup to limit what government is supposed to do. Our “rights” come from God, not granted by government, and in recent years, it appears that many of our “leaders” either have forgotten this point, or worse, don’t care.

Government is to serve the people, not the people serve the government!

I as an individual know more about my family and my community than some bureaucrat who works at a desk in some remote office. I as an individual am self-reliant and resilient as are a majority of Americans, not dependent on the largess of the government (because we know that the government has to take from our fellow citizens in order to “give”).
