I’m writing this as my daughter Jessica is driving us to Seattle – stuck in Portland tradffic – normal for a Friday, (but this is Thursday!)
It’s funny, when you need to get some place timely, you find yourself “stuck” in traffic!
Rode the trainer Tuesday and Wednesday, simple spinning to keep loose. It’s a good thing to keep loose during the week, being “tight” for before a long ride can be painful!
Tuesday
Wednesday
Luckily, by the time I’ve ridden an hour in the STP, I’m pretty loose!
Friday will be really a rest day, no work, no riding, might go for a quick swim, then it’s off for an early night! Need my sleep before the long day on Saturday.
My goal for this year is to at least ride the Seattle to Portland as fast as I did last year. Meaning, hardly any stopping, and averaging over 18 mph for the whole 200 miles.
Very doable.
Meals for Friday will be light, no need to be ridig with a “brick” in my stomach on Saturday, I’ve done that before and it’s not very comfortable and tends to slow me down (where’s the restroom!)
Come August, I am going to a wedding! My daughter Breanna is tying the knot! Wow, how the time flies! I just hope she remembers me as it’s been such a long time since I last saw her.
