After updating to WordPress 2.7 trunk r-8718 and giving it a quick tour (checking plugins, compatibility), I’m back to WordPress 2.6.1 and everything is back to “normal”.
I’ve found out which plugins work (or don’t) with the “K2 disable widget” plugin, fixed other settings that were not working properly.
Sometimes its a good thing to do a sweep of the site to ensure everything is working.
