I went for a traing ride today, Newberg – Hagg Lake – Newberg – Williamette Mission – Newberg (106 miles). I completed this in 5 hours 35 minutes.
When I arrived at Hagg Lake I found that a triathlon was going on (http://www.racecenter.com/hagglake/). What a blast! This was my fastest Hagg Lake loop ever – and to see the looks on the riders as I passed them! (passing riders as I was going 40 mph – it was as if they were standing still!)
Another fun part of today were the photographers – it was like they had never seen a trike before!
Anyway, one loop around Hagg Lake was all that was planned for me today – 50 miles round trip from Newberg to Hagg Lake.
From Hagg Lake, back to Newberg, then off to Williamette Mission. This route is fairly flat and a nice “recovery” from Hagg Lake.
The total ride I averaged 19.0 mph! A good indicator of what my STP is going to be like.
