Hagg Lake is about 28 miles from my home, 57 miles or so round trip. It is a very scenic route in the “back country” of rural Oregon.
This ride takes me about 3 hours to complete averaging over 18 mph. This ride also has a great mix of hills and flats – a good challenge especially after riding the trainer all winter.
I have almost 2000 miles ridden two weeks prior to the Wasco 75! (last year I was shy of 1200!) I think I’ll do quite well in the trike class this year.
The Seattle to Portland is just around the corner, looking forward to more miles and riding a couple of centuries (I thought about ridding one today, but, no need to kill myself before the Wasco.)
I’ve changed my routine this year – instead of riding every other day, I’m riding 6 days a week. On the days I ride outside I’ll ride 30-40 miles. The next day, I’ll ride on the trainer riding no more than an hour. Sundays for the most part I’ll not ride. I feel stronger and my averages for this year are also up!
