I’ve been watching the wether all week with baited breath… will it rain?… will it be sunny?… will it be warm?… All things a “fair weather” rider wants to know…
My most important criteria – not raining - came to pass today! It was a tolerable 50f when I ventured out for my ride. Wearing long sleves and tights kept me from being chilly (as long as I didn’t stop very long). Seeing the sun during my rides is a plus, but here in Oregon, “sunny” isn’t likely to happen during February. Did I mention, it wasn’t raining?
The clouds hung in there for all of my ride, with the sun peeking out every once in a while during the three hours on the road – just enough to remind me that that “ball of fire” is still there despite the winter we’ve had.
All said, I rode 57 miles today, and averaged 18.9 mph! Not bad for spending most of my winter on the trainer, in the meat locker – I mean garage…
I also burned over 3000 calories – time to go enjoy a greasy burger and fries!
