New Chain

I finally put on my new chain Wednesday (ordered three SRAM PC-991 hollowpin chains last week). My trike is much quieter!

Looking back over my blog, it looks like I’m getting about a season out of the chain or about 4000 miles.

The hollowpin chain is a more “expensive”, but is a weight saver - you get what you pay for… given that I have to use almost three “normal” chains on my trike, I’ll pay the premium.

Politics…

The beauty of the United States is that all kinds of people make this country great… I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!

I know there are some who don’t think the same way I do - thinking that the USA is the instigator of the ills in this world and that if only we (the USA) would “behave”,  we would be “liked”. Personally, I’d rather be right than be ”liked”, for I know that I will be respected for standing by my principles. People forget this, thinking that if they can only “get along” principles don’t matter. Not standing for anything is what has caused our world to spiral into chaos. Not standing up and protecting the oppressed thinking that “its not our problem” is what makes some of the world not like the United States…

Yes over simplification but true just the same…

‘First’ ride of the year…

Today was an especially warm Saturday in February and had to go ride outside! I went on a 30 mile ride - boy is it good to breathe air outside!

Riding the trainer for most of the winter does get old. Keeping the workouts to no more than an hour helps with the boredom. As the days start to get warmer and longer, I am so looking forward to more days riding outside.

Today’s weight is also a welcome change - 195.8! 11 pounds to go and I’ll be at my goal of 185!

Weight…

So far this year I’ve been doing quite well in dropping the extra weight!

Riding an hour or so every day, keeping track of what I eat and how much I weigh really is motivating.

Looking forward to the Wasco in May!

Leftist, Peaceniks, Democrats…

We live in a free country, that being said, if we as a people will not stand for our own freedoms by taking the fight to those who want our country’s values dead, we do not deserve those freedoms!

Those who think the fighting in Iraq is a “quagmire” you know nothing of history…

Yes, it is a difficult situation, yes, people are fighting and dying - the key point being “over there”.

Unlike another conflict some want to compare Iraq to, those who fight us “over there” will follow us back home if we leave (there are islamofacist cells in our country now!)

Personally, I do not want my way of life disrupted by some islamofacist blowing himself up in my neighborhood, my state, or my country!

There is a reason we haven’t has another “9/11″  in almost 6 years - instead of treating that terrible day as a “police action”, we took the fight to those who would do us harm (notice I did not say “did us harm”).
