Snow…

Second day of the “freeze”. The side streets where I live are still covered with ice and snow, hopefully, tomorrow the weather will change for the better and I can get back to work! Really tired of being cooped up!

On a side note, during the winter months, riding in the garage does take extra mental effort - riding more than an hour at a time can take a toll on ones body and mind - even if distracted by DVDs of my favorite shows… My new obsession being the Sci-Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica - the mini series, season 1, 2 and 2.5 are full of great shows.

What a difference…

Who says a battery is a battery is a battery…

With my Polar S720i’s sensors, it appears that one brand out performs the others. The last few battery changes, the Sony brand of button battery (size 2032) have been the most successful.

Before this last battery change, I used a Maxell 2032 and it didn’t perform well - my monitor was showing 0 mph while I’m pedalling away… ARGH! especially knowing what a pain it is to change the batteries (mind you, they are supposed to last 250-300 hours NOT 30 minutes!)

That didn’t go well, so I purchased a Sony 2032, repalced the battery YET again, and so far my ride data is being collected with little problems…

Battery Change…

Its that time again… my speed sensor is acting up, good thing I have extra batteries for just this occasion. The batteries in the Polar S720i are for the most easy to change when needed.

Friday weigh in…

Today’s weight: 204.8

Keeping track…

As I ride and weigh myself almost daily, I am seeing a downward trend for my weight - a very good thing! Last year I didn’t keep track of what I ate nor how much I weighed - I ballooned to over 215 lbs (my ideal weight is 172, I’ll be happy with 185 lbs.)

The Wasco is in May and I have plenty of time to train and get stronger. Looking forward to warmer weather though - as I have mentioned before, the “tour de garage” isn’t as fun as riding in the open air.
