Back in the game…

I’ve taken a well deserved break from cycling, now that fall is here and winter not far behind, I think I should get back in to the thick of things…

Anyone know of good (moderate to fast) music to spin to?

Techno, Dance, some HipHop, 80s and some 90s are all possibilities.

Taking a break

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been laying off the cycling - giving the body a well needed break.

Today I ran for 30 minutes and it felt good, I’ll have to continue this until October or so and work on upper body strength and trimming my overall weight.

All in all, I’m in good form and know that next year’s riding season will be a great one!

2 years and counting…

The 2nd of September marked my second year being cancer free!

In 2004 I had surgery to remove a melanoma from my neck and luckily the cancer was caught earily enough to be cut out with little impact (a 3 inch scar is all that remains.)

The “diagnosis” of cancer can be a life changing event.

Suffering from psoriasis and now living with the prospect of further skin cancers, the sun is now a blessing and a curse. A blessing in that my psoriasis clears up in dry, warm (sunny) climates, the very same environments I need to protect myself from!

As long as I protect my skin from the sun when I’m out for more than a couple of hours, I’ll be ok.
