Rantings

With the start of the Seatte to Portland close at hand, I’m thinking to myself what a year this has been so far! And I have five and a half months left before the new year begins!

Comes to mind what we here in the United States have compared to the rest of the world…

What price freedom?

All too often it seems many are willing, even eager, to give up what we have here in this great country – our freedom earned  by the blood and sweat of our forebears.

Are we willing to lay down our lives to keep the freedoms already paid for?

What is “freedom” – it is more than doing what you so choose – it is being free from those who would choose for you.

Anytime you want the “government” to do something that you could otherwise do for yourself, you have given up your freedom to act. You have chosen to be acted upon!

The government is not where a person should turn nor depend, for to depend on the government only leads to enslavement.

Our forebears fought for our freedoms so that we could choose for ourselves our own destiny. How sad it is that some would gladly give this up for the sake of security.

It has been said that to give up freedom for security, you have neither freedom nor security…

During this time of war (and yes Virginia, we are at war) what am I willing to do? I would gladly serve again in the Military, even give of my life that another might enjoy what I have enjoyed – but my time has past and this task of fighting overseas is in the hands of the younger generation, I am thankful to those who freely go in my stead!

On the home front, let us stand together in our neighborhoods and defend what has been won for us. Get to know your neighbors, elected officials, local police officers, etc.

Be observant of your suroundings and know that there is danger afoot, there are those who do not want freedom, who want to oppress and to detroy all in their path – we at home must be willing to support those who protect us abroad, and in the unlikely event, stand up to those who would attempt to bring the fight here!

I ask:

Why is it that some “fear” the linking of phone calls – who called whom, when and where?
Why is it taht some “fear” the tracking of money exchanges?
Why do some want to give our rights to those who never had them?
I pray that there isn’t another 9/11, but, for those who insist that “we should have connected the dots”, first we must learn of the dots and then be willing to connect them! Stop tying the hands of those attempting to find the dots!
