Miles

As it gets closer to the Wasco Wild West 75, I am riding more miles and riding stronger. I’ll have to remember that the week of the 20th of May, I’ll have to “relax” and not feel guilty for not riding.

This riding season so far has been a good one. Riding with friends, and warm weather after work can’t be beat!

50 miles…

Today began my group’s “official” start of our training rides together…

We did a 50 miler (more like 48 miles) this morning, took us almost 3.5 hours. With many skill levels in our group, I think we did well.

And on another positive note, I made my 100 mile week goal!

Next week should be as productive!

Oh-Yeah!!! Broke 1000 miles…

Well, I must be feeling better - I broke the 1000 mile mark this past Tuesday, and riding today was a great boost as well. My averages for Tuesday and today are in the 18mph range - what a difference fresh batteries make. Not taking myself so seriously  has been good for the soul as well, no need to get hung up on not meeting my 100 mile weekly goal - compared to last year, I’m off to a great riding season!

Fizzle and spat…

Just as spring weather is showing signs of coming into full swing, Oregon winter make a breif appearance.

My training, at times, takes a back seat to headaches - what a pain - literally. Tonight after settling down from work and wanting to go for a ride - my brain had other ideas…

I just have to remember that rest is as good as a hard ride - especially after a hard ride.

Always with the batteries…

Wireless sensors are a great idea, clean installs, no wires, etc. however they can be a real pain in the neck when the batteries start to drain. A good indication that something is wrong is when you are pedalling at a fair clip, you notice your speed drop and then climb back up. I wouldn’t think anything was wrong except for the fact that I’ve been riding a trainer and my speeds have been pretty consistant. Stupid batteries!
