Jurasic Park III

Watched Jurasic Park III while riding tonight - a good length about 1 hour 30 minutes or so, I rode for all of the movie. A good pace, a 5 minute warm up, 25 mile ride, then a short recovery ride (to get my heart rate down), then a 5 minute cool down. Felt really good!

Parts…

The new parts for my tike are arriving almost daily - I have received Avid’s BB7 mechanical disc brake, Aztec rotors, Aztec powerlines, and bar tape wrap. I am awaiting the brake levers - pretty cool devices actually. They are called AreoBrake levers by JTek Engineering http://jtekengineering.com/AeroBrake.htm. These levers should make my trike controls neater, more compact and able to shave off some length from the control bar. Here is a photo of a tri-bike with them on:

Made it!

I didn’t think I would make my 100 mile weekly goal as I didn’t ride last night, however, this morning I felt strong and rode for almost 40 miles, bringing this weeks total to 104 miles!

Soon I’ll have all my new parts in for my trike and will spend a Saturday swaping out old parts, putting on the new ones. I’ll be taking “before” and “after” pictures and post them on “My Wheels” page.

New tires…

On the 25th, I rode for about 45 minutes, keeping my cadence up and working on form. I didn’t want to max out my heart rate.

Last night, I received new tires! What a difference the ride was. I was able to maintain a faster pace for 30 minute stretches and didn’t feel too tired afterward.

Recovery…

Tonight’s ride was a good change of pace - not too fast, not too long.
